A crown caps a damaged tooth entirely, restoring its shape and strength when a filling alone isn't enough to hold it together. A bridge, by contrast, replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to the crowns on either side of the gap. Both are custom-fabricated to match your bite and the shade of your surrounding teeth.
Same-day crown technology, using an in-office milling machine, has cut the traditional two-visit crown process down to a single appointment at select offices. Bridges typically still require two to three visits: preparing the anchor teeth, taking impressions, and fitting the final piece.
Treatment order matters here — a crown placed over an unresolved cavity or an unhealthy gumline won't hold up as well long-term. Getting the foundation healthy first is what makes the final crown or bridge actually last.
Select offices design and mill a crown in one visit using in-office CAD/CAM technology.
Zirconia and porcelain options prioritize appearance; metal options prioritize durability for back molars.
Digital scans capture your exact bite alignment so the crown or bridge fits without adjustment.
Traditional bridges use your existing healthy teeth as anchors, avoiding implant surgery when appropriate.
Our network specialists cover the full range of this procedure, from the routine case to the complicated one.
